Life of a Mountain: Scafell Pike
Not Rated75 mins 2D Digital Documentary Adults £9.00 Evening £10.00
Synopsis
This is the film that catapulted Terry Abrahams into the forefront of mountain movie makers, a mesmerising catalogue of a year in the life of England’s highest mountain Scafell Pike (3,210ft) – one of Alfred Wainwright’s ‘best half-dozen’ fells – and the people who live in the isolated communities of Wasdale, arguably the most stunning valley in the Lake District.
In December 2012 Terry started filming, worked alone and spending many nights camped out on the fells for days at a time. It features TV broadcasters and presenters Eric Robson and David Powell-Thompson, as well as mountaineer Alan Hinkes OBE, legendary fellrunner Joss Naylor MBE, author Mark Richards, shepherdess Alison O’Neil (who introduces the film), Wasdale Mountain Rescue, long distance walker Chris Townsend, National Trust Rangers, farmers and more.
